Yes, you heard that right.
Much like my capsule wardrobe, I figured I’d put together a simple Spring capsule makeup bag. I did some research on the best makeup and beauty products for spring (as well as added in some of my own, personal staples), and curated the ultimate spring capsule makeup bag. It has only the essentials you need for spring. Yes, it’s meant to be minimalist, but I ensure you can pull off a full glam look with everything inside.
When I thought about the absolutely essential tools every beauty witch needs in her makeup bag, I immediately thought of my beauty blender (btw, I call all knock-off beauty sponges, beauty blenders). The one shown is actually a knock-off brand, but I love it more than I did when I actually got the real deal.
Also, my go-to beauty tool essentials are tweezers, eyelash curlers, a nail file and eye brushes. I got these few brushes in my 12-piece bamboo starter kit from Karity and I love them.
For me, spring is all about keeping things light and fun. And in St. Louis, you never know if it’s going to be 87° or 45° between February and May. I don’t want to put on a super heavy foundation in the morning, just to have it melt off my face by lunch. That makes a BB cream is the way to go.
You can also add coverage with a nice, liquid concealer (I live for the Fit Me concealer by Maybelline). And you cannot forget a moisturizing primer and mattifying powder.
When I first thought of creating a spring capsule makeup bag, my eyes were immediately drawn to the Spring Fever eye shadow palette from Karity. I literally just got this palette in the mail a week or so ago, and already love it. It has a perfect balance of color, bronze, bright, and neutral. Also, the purple shade is amazing.
And duh, you can’t pull off a full eye look without mascara, or eyeliner.
You can’t pull off a minimalist, but glam look without highlight, contour, blush, brows, or lips either. To finish off my minimalist, but entirely essential capsule makeup bag, I included a few great lip glosses from Smashbox, a brow pencil, and the Sweet Peach Glow palette from Too Faced.
What’s in your Spring Capsule Makeup Bag?
For this spring capsule makeup bag, I wanted to make it clear that the specific products don’t really matter, but the concept does. I think it’s important to think about the best ways to incorporate minimalism into our every day lives to reduce waste and save on cost.
Even if your makeup collection is huge (*ahem* like mine), or already minimal, what products are you using everyday that could help you achieve that fully glam look?
